Our family owned recruitment organisation Scholten Medical Recruitment is an international recruitment and selection firm, specialised in the recruitment of healthcare professionals for positions in Switzerland. We recruit for a wide variety of positions, staff from many different nations, on behalf of hospitals, private clinics, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes, ambulant services and other Swiss healthcare institutes. We offer you, as an applicant, unique possibilities to boost your career internationally!

Family owned business (35 years)

As our parents have founded the company, we have felt closely connected to the firm, since our childhood. We are therefore commited to take that extra step. We were proud to celebrate our 30th annivesary in 2018!

What do we offer you?

We address our network in order to find you a new and challenging position. In case your foreign language skills need to be 'boosted', we will connnect you with private teachers and language schools (fixed cooperation partners). Also we will support you in finding suitable accommodation, in becoming professionally registered, in admitting your application for a permit and guiding you through all other relevant formalities involved by moving to Switzerland. Our guidance is intensive, which make our services unique. As we bring over 35 years of experience as an international recruitment organisation, we are more than willing to address our expertise in making your dream job a reality!

Helen Eleveld

My name is Helen Eleveld. I was born in March 1972, am married and have four children, all visiting school or studying. After my studies in 1997, I almost immediately accepted a position in our familiy owned company. In first instance, I worked as a Recruiter for clients in England and the Caribbean. Also recruitment efforts for clients in the Arabic Emirates and Saudia Arabia belonged to my tasks, particularly in end of the 1990's. Meanwhile I am an allround Recruiter for applicants and healthcare organisations. I enjoy the daily contacts with healthcare professionals. My heart beats faster for people working in this sector, in particular because of the human approach in healthcare. The entrepreneurship is well combinable with the busy family life and offers excellent opportunities to be flexbile. For this reason, since January 2008, I have been the official and proud owner of Scholten Medical, together with my younger sister Carolien Timpers.

Carolien Timpers

My name is Carolien Timpers. I was born in 1975, am happily married to Michiel and have two teenage daughters and one son. After my Bachelor in International Business and Languages, I started working in banking. After several years of work experience, I changed position and started working in our familiy owned business. Since 2000 I have been an enthusiastic and driven sparringpartner for applicants and healthcare organisations within Europe and beyond. From 2000 - 2007 I passed several exams in Work & Organisational Psychology. I am an optimistic person, enjoying and embracing life. For me, having an interesting and challenging job is undoubtedly connected to personal happiness. The connection that our organisation creates between applicants and employers, generates a daily inspiration. Besides my work, I have two big passions: the Italian language as well as cooking/dining with friends and family.

Founding of Scholten Medical

Scholten & Associates Medical Recruitment BV was founded in 1988 by Anne Holtkamp-Scholten. Recruitment of nursing and (para)medical staff on the German and Dutch labour market, on behalf of Swiss healthcare organisations.

1991

Irish Nurses

Scholten Medical recruits Irish Nurses on behalf of the Cantonal Healthcare Department of Zurich.

1993

Swiss AG

Our Swiss AG with office located at the Triemlistrasse in Zurich was founded.

1995

Great Britain

Recruitment efforts within Europe on behalf of hospitals and nursing homes in Great Britain.

1996

Middle East

Recruitment to the Middle East is a fact! Hospitals in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates recruit healthcare professionals in Europe through Scholten Medical.

1997

Helen Eleveld

Eldest daughter, Helen Eleveld, joins family business Scholten Medical.

1998

The Netherlands

The Dutch labour market shows more and more scarcity to find good qualified healthcare professionals. Scholten Medical recruits staff abroad on behalf of Dutch hospitals and nursing homes.

1999

Caribbean

The first recruitment projects to the Caribbean take place on behalf of hospitals on Aruba and Bonaire.

2000

Carolien Timpers

Youngest daughter, Carolien Timpers, makes a career switch. She leaves Fortis for a job as Recruiter in the family owned business.

2001

Channel Islands

A new market has been launched: on behalf of healthcare organisations on the Channel Islands (in particular Guernsey), healthcare professionals are recruited internationally.

2005

Australia

The first mediations in Australia are a fact.

2008

New owners

The familiy business has been taken over by Helen Eleveld and Carolien Timpers, both daughter of founder Anne Holtkamp-Scholten. Since then, international recuitment on behalf of Swiss healthcare organisations, is a core business.
